The Haast Eagle is one of New Zealand’s most fabled extinct birds, the largest bird of prey to ever exist on Earth. With a wingspan of over 2 metres, it lived in the South Island on mountain slopes.

The plants that remain in the MacKenzie Basin serve to memorialise this lost creature:

  • Hebe albicans

  • Mountain daisies

  • Potentilla anserinoides

This series, titled I’m Gonna Love You Anyhow, is an emotive collection of watercolour portraits of the skulls of New Zealand’s extinct native birds. They are featured alongside the flowers, plants, and trees that remain in the regions of their former habitats.

  • 310gsm Hahnemuhle German Etching paper

  • Archival quality giclee fine art inks

  • Signed and numbered edition, limited to 30
